ReZero characters got some half assed reaching for idealism and apparently the mc always prevails with saint-like decision making, inhuman, trash motivations too. The characters are badly written with arbitrary goals.

I think my favorite part of this show iis that while it's definitely a high fantasy series in line with many RPGs or Video Games, it never has to justify anything it does with numbers or unnecessary systems. It's explored, mysterious, and weird all at the same time, and it just makes sense to the people in it's world who specialize in stuff like Magic or Ecology without needing to feel like a video game in everything but name. I think it would be cool if you took a look at Blood Blockade Battlefront's take on a Magical New York City and how in a rare Anime moment they perfectly nail how weird and wonderful the real NYC can be.

My favorite little detail in this story is the use of the word human. Most fantasy stories use the same approach to dealing with the concept of the word human. The reason it and other words derived from it are so universally used is because humans are the most numerous race and thus are treated as the default. But in DID, the group of people we'd call humans in Dungeons and Dragons, World of Warcraft or Baldur's Gate, is instead called Tall-men, and the word human is used for everyone. An elf is a human, a dwarf is a human, a half-foot is a human, etc. It means person, making so that its use in terms like demihuman or humanoid doesn't feel like one race being seen as the standard, but comes from a term that describes all of the sentient races. It is such a little, basically insignificant detail, but to me it shows just how much care was put in the world building.

My only neg on the series is the random bath scene several episodes in. I have some friends that are just conservative types, and I thought I had finally found an anime with just the right mix that I could drag them into. But the random bath scene is just going to turn them off, and doesn't add anything.
